ltapzmap is private to lighter-than-air pilots. Pick your country below and we'll route verification to the right authority — US pilots are auto-verified against the FAA Airmen registry; pilots in other countries get a quick admin manual review.

FAA balloon-pilot license

Enter the certificate number and your name exactly as printed on your certificate. We check it against the public FAA Airmen file — most pilots are auto-approved on the spot; address-withheld pilots get a quick manual review instead. Look yourself up at amsrvs.registry.faa.gov.

Use the name AS PRINTED on your license. Middle names and generation suffixes (Jr / Sr / III) are tolerated.

ltapzmap only works if everyone contributes.

This map is built by balloon pilots, for balloon pilots. If every pilot uploads the PZs, landowner contacts, and obstacles they know in their own flying area, the whole community gets a far better picture than any one of us could build alone. Lurking on others' work without adding your own makes the map worse for everyone.

Not a pilot but need access?

If you're a festival organizer, ground-crew member, FAA contact, or have another legitimate reason to see balloon-pilot map data without holding a certificate, send a short message explaining your role and we'll set you up manually.
